Neat & Tidy Classrooms: Book Displays

Teachers want their students to develop a love for reading. Having a book display can add appeal, neatness, and excitement to any classroom giving students a way to show responsibility. No matter what goals a teacher has, book displays are great assets to any classroom. Everyone would expect the typical classroom to have books and thankfully, most of them do. But teachers know that books can become just another thing in the classroom if they are not presented to the students in a meaningful way. Because of this, book displays are a great asset to any classroom. There are many practical reasons to add book displays to a classroom environment. There are many, but here are four reasons you should have a high quality book display in your classroom:
    Add Pizzazz to the Classroom
There are many different types of book displays to choose from that can add character, fun and vibrancy to the classroom. Some theme based displays such as a Safari Book Display or Noah’s Ark Book Display add a wonderful area for teachers to build off of. Another great option is the revolving book displays that also come in a variety of styles and themes. These bright, colorful, and beautifully designed book displays add an inviting feel to any classroom. Teachers can use these book displays to create centers or learning areas within the classroom. Create Excitement about Books
For younger students, seeing a bookshelf lined with many books that only show their bindings is not very appealing. This requires a lot of reading and attempts to figure out what a book is about; and that can be intimidating. Having a book display such as the 2 Sided Canvas Book Display allows students to view the front cover of books and they can choose the ones that appeal to their likes and interests. Book displays also make it easy for teachers to showcase new and exciting books that kids can’t wait to get their hands on. What teacher doesn't want to promote that type of excitement around literacy? Tidy  up your Classroom
A neat classroom is a productive classroom. Working in chaos or mess is difficult for many students. Maintaining both classroom and visual order is important in order for learning to take place. Having book displays in the classroom provides a way for books to be displayed in a neat and orderly fashion. Traditional bookshelves are more difficult to keep organized and neat with many little hands pulling out and returning books.
            Teach Kids Responsibility
Book displays can be maintained by students by assigning kids to keep the displays organized. This task gives students a sense of responsibility. Displays make it easy for even the youngest of students to return books, retrieve books, and organize books by size and shape. Students can even wipe dust or fingerprints easily from book displays since they are easy to assess and easy to clean. Students will feel proud that they are able to take care of their classroom in this way.
